Best Foldable Phone 2026: iPhone Duo vs Galaxy Z Fold 8 vs Pixel 11 Pro Fold

For seven years, "best foldable" meant "which Samsung." Not anymore. Six book-style foldables now compete at the top of the market, four of them priced within $100 of each other in the US, and Apple finally joined in September. Each one wins something different. The iPhone Duo is the fastest and toughest, the Galaxy Z Fold8 is the lightest, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold has the best zoom, and the Razr Fold has the biggest screen and battery.

Our verdict: the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is the best foldable for most people. It's the only one that combines an 8-inch screen, full IP68 protection and a real 5x zoom lens, at $1,899. iPhone owners should buy the iPhone Duo. The Razr Fold is the best value if screen size and battery matter more to you than dust protection.

One more phone deserves a mention: the Honor Magic V6, which isn't sold in the US. At 8.8mm folded and 219 grams, with a 6,660mAh battery and 80W charging, it's the best-engineered foldable in the world right now. If you live somewhere it's sold, put it on your list.

Speed

The iPhone Duo wins easily. Its A20 Pro scored about 4,719 single-core and 12,677 multi-core in early Geekbench 6 results, roughly 32% and 24% ahead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in both Samsungs. The Razr Fold's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is a step below that, and Google's Tensor G6 is last. Every phone here is fast enough for daily use, though. The gap shows up in gaming, video export and how well the phone holds up in year four.

Cameras

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is the one to beat. It's the only foldable with a 5x telephoto, and Google's processing is the most consistent in mixed light. The Fold8 Ultra's 200MP main sensor and the Razr Fold's three 50MP cameras are close behind, both with 3x zoom. The standard Fold8 and the iPhone Duo have no telephoto at all, so skip both if you often zoom.

Battery and Charging

Motorola wins here. The Razr Fold's 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery is 20–25% larger than anything from Samsung or Google, and it charges at 80W wired and 50W wireless. Samsung and Google are close to each other at 4,750–5,000mAh. Apple rates the Duo for up to 24 hours of mixed use but doesn't publish capacity. Wait for independent tests before counting on it.

Durability

This is the least glamorous spec and the one that matters most over two years. A foldable's hinge is its weak point, and dust is what wears it out. The iPhone Duo and Pixel 11 Pro Fold are both IP68, protected against dust and water. Both Samsungs are IP48 and the Razr Fold is IP49. They'll survive rain and a drop in the sink, but they aren't sealed against sand or pocket lint.

Who Should Buy Which

The Verdict

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is the best foldable phone of 2026. It pairs a big screen with the dust protection and zoom lens most rivals leave out. The iPhone Duo is the right foldable for iPhone users: fastest and toughest, but heaviest. The Razr Fold is the smartest value, and the Galaxy Z Fold8 remains the easiest foldable to carry every day.
